EDUCATOR'S WALL OF FAME

We asked this fall's new Campuswide Honor's Freshmen and Dean's Honor Roll Transfer students to tell us who at their former institution had the greatest influence on their academic development and their decision to come to UCI. TRANSFER PROGRAMS

There are many opportunities for transfer students at UCI to learn about UCI and meet faculty and other transfer students. A few programs transfers may find of interest are described below.

Programs in DUE

  • Transfer Seminars - these one-unit seminars are designed to introduce new transfers to UCI faculty and their research as well as to meet other new transfers interested in similar academic issues.
  • International Village Seminars - these one-unit seminars are particularly aimed at visiting foreign students, residents of International Village and others interested in International Education. They are taught in Arroyo Vista near the International Village.
  • Transfer Services Counseling Program - this program is a great resource for new transfers and provides online answers to your questions, in person counseling services and special topic programs of interest to transfers.
  • University Studies 2 - UCI Majors - this course, originally designed for Freshmen, has sections reserved for Transfer students in Fall and Winter quarters. The Fall 2006 course website gives you an overview of the curriculum.
  • Student Academic Advancement Services (SAAS) - is a federally funded program that provides comprehensive academic support services for students from first generation and low income backgrounds as well as students with disabilities.

  • The Career Center offers UC Irvine transfer students assistance in planning for graduate school and careers after graduation.
  • The Counseling Center provides individual and group counseling for personal needs and workshops on many topics of interest to UC Irvine transfer students.
  • Transfer students should search the Dean of Students' website for information about the over 300 clubs and organizations on our campus.
  • General information and resources for current and prospective re-entry transfer students can be found on the Admissions site.
  • Women's Opportunity Center offers career and life planning to assist male and female re-entry transfer students at UC Irvine.
