At times, schools are overwhelmed with the in-flow of students on any given day. For example, the School of Social Sciences is home to a substantial amount of students. Because of this, many full-time counselors find it necessary to delegate some tasks to PAAs on a daily basis. These tasks include performing degree checks, counseling for quarterly classes, responding to e-mails, and helping with day-to-day tasks. PAAs train and practice in order to deal with the various needs of the UCI undergraduate population. As part of their training, PAAs run through the different types of scenarios that they will have to deal with on a daily basis. The PAAs know the ins and outs of every single major in their schools. The PAAs are indispensable tools who will help you to plan out your successful career here at UCI. We have experienced the challenges of selecting classes, managing time, choosing and living with roommates, operating withing a budget, dealing with family, and finding ways to enjoy ourselves in Irvine!
