School: School of Social Sciences
Major(s): International Studies, Literary Journalism
Minor(s):
Year: Senior
Extracurricular activities: Uncultivated Rabbits, Forest Fire Magazine, New University.
Hobbies: Cooking, writing, making things, exploring almost everything I encounter.
Why you love UCI: After spending two years completely not liking it, I eventually proved myself wrong. UCI was not what I imagined as the college experience, but then all these amazing opportunities seemed to pop out of the woodwork when I stopped sticking to what I thought I liked and what I was used to.
What you recommend doing the most: I promise doing any one of these will make your day amazing.
Watch productions in Claire Trevor. The plays are SO GOOD and some of them are free. Sit in Aldrich Park during sunset. Better yet, bring your friends and munchies. Take the classes you are curious about because after college, you might
never have that push to make performance art, read about North Korea or
learn how your brain works. GO ABROAD. BEST DECISION EVER. Go to an open mic or jam session.
And even though it'll feel intimidating, talk to a stranger because
really and truly 99% of people walking on Ring Road feel disconnected. |
