Why you love UCI: It has to be the fact that it's one of the greenest campuses in the nation. I enjoy riding around on my bike and seeing all the trees and greenery. Also, I love how inclusive it is for everyone with all of the resources and organizations that take into account so many diverse lifestyles and interests.
What you recommend doing the most: Getting involved in things that you want to do and at the end of the day make you proud. There is something here for everyone and it should be your personal obligation to get out and find what you like. Make the most out of your time here and never let anything pass you by. Also, be sure to ask lots of questions to everyone, professors, counselors, Peer Academic Advisors, that's why they're here!

Name: Bianca Jaquez
School: Physical Sciences
Major(s): Mathematics Concentration in Education/ Secondary Teaching Certification
Minor(s):
Year: 3rd
Extracurricular activities: Jumpstart, dancing Hip-Hop and Salsa, and spending time with friends and family.
Why you love UCI: I love UCI because it has a beautiful campus and the people I have met here are amazing. There are many different opportunities to become involved and meet new people. Anyone can find their perfect club or organization to become a part of. UCI is very inviting and makes you feel comfortable going to school here. I have had an amazing time these past 2 years that I’ve been here.
What you recommend doing the most: I recommend going out and joining as many different clubs and organizations as possible right from the start. It is important to start getting involved early before it’s too late. Look into everything on your own and start applying for anything that interests you without waiting for someone to tell you to. Have an open mind when thinking about joining different clubs. Spend a lot of time on campus so that you know what is going on such as events, fairs, free stuff, etc. Look into everything that UCI has to offer because it has a lot, you just have to do research and get it yourself.

Name: Joy Tsai
Academic Unit: School of Physical Sciences
Major: Environmental Science

Minors: Management, Global Sustainability
Year: 4th
Extracurricular activities: Alpha Phi Omega, web & graphic designing, baking, photography, traveling, and hiking
Why you love UCI: UCI is close to the beach, so the weather is great year round. There are places like Disneyland and South Coast Plaza that are just a short drive away, and Aldrich Park is a great place to relax in between classes. UCI is a diverse and inviting campus - it offers a variety of different clubs and organizations for everyone to explore. I also enjoy walking by the Farmers’ Market, vendor fairs, and booths on Ring Road. The bottom line is, UCI has a lot to offer- opportunities, internships, resources, events, and more!
What you recommend doing the most: I believe that everyone should make the most out of their college experience, so get involved now! Not only will it allow you to gain experience, but it'll also help you grow. You might even discover a new hobby! It's not too late to start something that you've always wanted to try, but never got to it. Don't be afraid to step out of your boundaries and broaden your horizon. Get to know your professors and peers! Make your college experience worthwhile, but don't forget to work hard!
