MEET THE PAAs

Meet the Campuswide Honors Program peers and discuss your amazingly high GPA with them...

Name: Ben Gillig
School: Campuswide Honors Program
Major(s): Psychology and Social Behavior
Minor(s): Criminology, Law and Society
Year: Junior
Extracurricular activities: I have been involved the Campuswide Honors Programs since my first year here at UCI. I have also worked with Student Housing, and now as a PAA. Since my freshman year, I have been a Campus Representative and I plan to remain involved on campus during my coming years at UCI.
Hobbies: My hobbies include sleeping, eating, reading, sleeping, talking, cooking, and sleeping. In all honesty I can pretty much enjoy almost anything.
Why you love UCI:
I love the atmosphere at UCI. Although it may sound vague, but I really appreciate the way UCI balances academics, activities, organizations, social life, and other important parts of the collegiate experience in a laid-back and supportive environment.
What you recommend doing the most: Visiting your PAA, of course.
Name: Katherine Mackenzie
School: Campuswide Honors Program
Major(s): Chemistry, Biological Sciences
Minor(s):
Year: Senior
Extracurricular activities: Campuswide Honors Program.
Hobbies: Cooking, shopping, going to the beach, reading.
Why you love UCI: Everyone is friendly and there's always something happening on campus or in the area. It’s never a boring place to be.
What you recommend doing the most: Get heavily involved in an on-campus activity or student group. You will meet a lot of great people that are outside of your major.
Name: Katie Bordonaro
School: Campuswide Honors Program
Major(s): Biological Sciences
Minor(s):
Year: Senior
Extracurricular activities: I served as the Campuswide Honors Student Council social chair and peer mentor. I currently do research in a Neuropsychopharmacology lab and volunteer at Western Medical Center. I previously played on the UCI Women's Club Soccer Team, was a member of RSA, and studied abroad in Australia doing Marine Biology and Terrestrial Ecology work for a quarter.
Hobbies: I love to run, play basketball, soccer, and racquetball, dance, bake, laugh, go to the beach, get coffee, read, and spend time with family and friends.
Why you love UCI:
I love UCI the most for the people and faculty I have met while being here. Everyone is helpful and friendly which has mad it easy to go from living in a small town to the ever-growing Orange County. Also there are a wide variety of ways to get involved on the campus and if there is something that isn't offered, you could easily start it up yourself.
What you recommend doing the most: Definitely go abroad while you are a student here. UCI makes it incredibly easy to do this and still graduate in four years or earlier no matter what you are studying. I learned a lot, and traveled all over Australia while doing it!
